FCA History
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes was established 1954 in the United States. From its inception, FCA has gathered coaches and athletes for fellowship around their faith in Jesus Christ, to grow in this faith, and to share the life transforming gospel of Jesus within the world of sport. This impact reaches from children to professional sport, with millions sharing in this ministry. FCA is also recognised as the 2nd largest distributor of Bibles in the world through its sports, coaches, athletes, and discipleship Bibles.
FCA's leadership saw the potential global impact of FCA, and since the early 2010's has seen its ministry spread to almost 120 countries, with almost 3,000 staff in the US and in International Sports Partner ministries.
FCA has been connected to Australia since 2017, formally establishing its ministry as FCA 360 Sports Australia in 2023. The first staff member, Jim Dayhew, commenced as the
full-time Executive Director in 2024. We continue to build the team of staff and volunteers as we reach schools, clubs, churches, and communities, seeing the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.
